University College London is the home of several important scientific collections used for research and teaching. Some of the collections are open to the public others can only be seen by appointment. The UCL web site gives the details for each collection.

University College London The Institute of Archaeology collections
The collection held by the Institute of Archaeology includes botanical and zoological specimens found by archaeologists. These help with the identification of plant and animal remains. Collections of minerals and other materials form part of the teaching resource for the study of early technology.
