The end of the fast track
The channel tunnel rail link (CTRL)

Spectacular engineering projects are nearing completion north of King's Cross Station to bring the channel tunnel rail link into St Pancras Station.

The team of engineers working on these projects is based in a mountain on drab temporary offices behind the British Library.

The portal and bridge
The high-speed trains will emerge from the embankment above the tracks running north from King's Cross. A huge steel bridge is ready to carry the trains from the end of the tunnel across the tracks and road down to St Pancras.

The rails and cables are in place.
