Working towards a sustainable future
Nature's World

Nature's World is a unique visitor attraction - not only is it a great day out, it is also pioneering methods of organic, sustainable and environmentally friendly horticulture.

Nature's World is a showcase for sustainable development. Based on a 25 acre site near Middlesborugh it includes demonstration gardens, composting trials, a reedbed system as well as the unique 400m River Tees Model.

A visitor attraction with a conscience Nature's World works closely with the local community - projects such as the Wildflower Ark and Community Orchard aim to increase awareness of local biodiversity.

However the real showpiece is the Millenium Project funded Hydroponicum which presents the indoor garden of the future. The climate in this unique greenhouse is controlled through 60m deep geothermal vents and an insulating blanket of earth - cost effective, with no emmissions or waste, it is a great example of renewable energy in action.
