Solar powered live music at Farmers' Market
Photovoltaic cells were used to power live music at Guisborough Farmers Market in August to promote alternative energy use.
The potential for using solar power as a renewable enery source was demonstrated at the recent launch of a guide to environmentally-friendly buildings. The 'green' entertainment at Guisborough Farmers' Market was powered by photovolataic cells, which convert sunlight into electricity.
The demonstration was part of a initiative led by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council to encourage residents to take steps to minimise pollution and make their homes more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
The guide is available from Council Offices or via their website (see below). The Farmer' Market is held on the second Saturday of each month.
