Five listed buildings and thirteen action-packed galleries bring the past to life with working industrial machinery, scientific achievement, live demonstrations and hands-on exhibits.
Fun Science
Science is fun in Xperiment, the hands-on science gallery, where you can explore materials, senses and energy.
The Power Hall, houses the world's largest collection of working steam mill engines and the amazing Air and Space Hall is packed with aeroplanes that made flying history as well as 'Out of this World' space displays.
In Futures gallery you can see Baby, the world's first computer and the innovative Collections Centre which houses thousands of clues to Manchester's industrial heritage and scientific achievement.
Other facilities include the Learning Centre, Conference Centre a contemporary restaurant and Museum shop. A great day out for visitors of all ages.
Opening Times
The Museum is open every day, except 24, 25 and 26 December from 10am - 5pm.
The main museum is free, but there is a charge for Special Exhibitions.
