Hailing a Water Taxi to Trafford Quays!
The Trafford Centre??s Canal

The last canal to be built in Manchester was the
Manchester Ship Canal, which was completed in 1894. Over a hundred years later, Peel Holdings have been granted permission by Trafford Council to build a new 600 metre canal to ferry passengers between the Trafford Centre and Salford Quays.

Aspiring to alleviate the volume of traffic on the M60, the ??Trafford Quay?? will provide an alternative, more environmentally-friendly mode of transport in the form of water taxis.

Such a venture is integral to the continual revival of the Trafford Park area that we have seen over the last fifteen years and will provide the opportunity to build offices and waterside apartments lining the canal. Trafford Quays is expected to take about a year to build although the official starting date has not been decided. ??Waterway?? to travel!
