Catalyst Museum
Catalyst Museum
Catalyst is the only science centre (and museum) solely devoted to chemistry and how the products of chemistry are used in every day life - from medicines to meccano. The Museum aims to inform people of all ages about the "chemistry" industry and its role in our lives, past present and future.
Catalyst has an strong emphasis on fun and participation, and interactive exhibits involve visitors with one of the most dynamic forces in Britain today. Catalyst tells the story of the development of the chemical industry, and its impact on people's everyday lives. A world first ... It is designed to be different.
Visitors are transported in an external glass lift to the exhibition, 'Industry In View', which is set in a specially constructed observation gallery, one hundred feet above ground level, which gives spectacular views over the surrounding area.
Open Tuesday to Sunday, and Bank Holiday Mondays: 10.00 am till 5.00 pm.
