Measuring pollutants in London's air
An air-pollution monitor in Russell Square
Scattered around London there are automatic monitoring stations to detect the pollutants from motor vehicles and other sources. One of them is behind the cafe in the restored Russell Square.
Measurements which can save lives
The monitoring station in Russell Square draws in air and automatically measures the presence of pollutant gases and transmits the information at regular intervals to a central data base.
