The River Irwell Gets a Clean!
United Utilities Improve the Water Quality.
United Utilities are ??channelling?? its energy to give the River Irwell a much needed clean!
Working in partnership with KMI Water and MWH, United Utilities have installed filters at specific points along the River Irwell to ensure that the River Irwell becomes a sewage-free zone thus raising the river??s water quality. The project is due to finish in March 2006. The ??1 million project is just one venture of a larger scheme to improve a number of canals, rivers and waterways across Greater Manchester.
